Hedy Lamarr
Hedy Lamarr was not only a famous Hollywood star in the 1940s, but she was also a mathematician and the inventor of a secret communications system during World War II, which was used for radio-controlling torpedoes. This spectrum was then used to create the GPS, bluetooth, and wifi, so she laid the groundwork for all of that.
