Four Eye Looks From The ACM Awards You Can Create At Home
Believe it or not, but these gorgeous lids were created with drugstore beauty finds. See the exact products used and learn how to get the same looks.
It's not every day that red-carpet beauty looks are created with products from the drugstore. But at last night's American Country Music Awards, that was just the case. From Carrie Underwood's feathered lashes and cocoa liner to Kacey Musgraves's electric lids and subtle smokey eye, we've got the exact affordable products used to create four of the most memorable looks from last night's show. Take a peek at these stunning stares and learn how to re-create these simple yet sexy eyes at home.
Makeup artist Kristofer Buckle gave Sheryl Crow her natural, bronzed lids for the red carpet. "To make eyes sparkle, I lined the inner eyes with the “Brighten” side of the Pixi by Petra Crayon Combo in Wide Awake ($18)," he says. He then used both sides of the Pixi by Petra Crayon Combo in Softly Smokey ($18) to line Crow's upper lash line.
To give the singer a subtle pop of color, Buckle used the bronze and emerald shades from the Pixi by Petra Mesmerizing Mineral Palette in Emerald Gold ($12) along the crease of the upper eye lid. He then used the champagne shade under the lower lashes and on the outer corners of the eyes to give them more dimension. Finally, he topped off her red-carpet look with Pixi by Petra Large Lash Mascara ($16) on both the top and bottom lashes.
To get Carrie Underwood's super sexy, look-at-me smokey eye, makeup artist Melissa Schleicher stuck to all Almay products, a brand for which Underwood is a spokesperson. Schleicher used the Almay Intense i-Color Smoky-i Kit for hazel eyes ($7.59) all over the lids for the base color. Then she applied Almay Shadow Softies by Intense i-Color in Hot Fudge ($4.99) in the crease of the lids for added drama. For liner, she used Almay's Eyeliner in Brown ($7.99) on both the top and bottom lash lines. And finally, to get those mega lashes Underwood is known for, Schleicher applied Almay Volumizing Mascara in Midnight for hazel eyes ($7.99).
In addition to creating Sheryl Crow's look, makeup artist Kristofer Buckle also gave country newcomer Kacey Musgraves on-trend blue lids for the ACM Awards. He started with the earthy brown shade from the Pixi by Petra Mineral Palette in Plum Quartz ($12) all over her lids. He then blended a dash of the emerald shade from the Mineral Palette in Emerald Gold ($12) for a slight contrast of colors. To give Musgraves's a subtle smokey look, Buckle lined her eyes with the “Line” side of the Pixi by Petra Crayon Combo in Softly Smoky ($18). As for the lashes, he stuck to Pixi by Petra Large Lash Mascara ($16) on both the top and bottom lashes.
Hillary Scott rocked a cool metallic look at the ACM Awards, and as it turns out, it's actually super simple to re-create. Makeup artist Terri Apanasewicz created the look with Sonia Kashuk Pearlescence Longwear Creme Shadow in Tiger's Eye ($8.99) layered with metallic shimmer shades from Sonia Kashuk's Eye Couture in Eye on Neutral Shimmer ($19.99). To get that super-defined kohl rim look, Apanasewicz used two eyeliners. First she used MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack ($16.99, and the only non-drugstore find of the bunch!) close to the top lash line. Next she used Sonia Kashuk Twist-Up Longwear Eye Liner in Black Onyx ($7.99) to line both the top and bottom waterlines. To complete the look, Apanasewicz applied Sonia Kashuk Full Eyelashes with glue ($4.99).
