Holiday Face Dressing with Celebrity Makeup Artist Daniel Martin

(Source Andrew Toth/Stephen Lovekin/Dimitrios Kambouris/Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images North America)'Tis the season that we ladies are mildly panicked over outfit options, or lack thereof, for the holiday party du jour. Although fitting room tears, overpaying for express shipping, and closet chaos from digging for a forgotten gem go with the territory, what about your face? You know, that moderately important thing everyone sees before the big reveal of that sleek little number hidden under your overcoat? Don't fret—celebrity makeup artist Daniel Martin shared four looks he created recently that are just too insanely perfect for any buffet and two-hour open bar that awaits. Your cheat sheet, if you will.
Sculpted Cheek
For those that are going for the understated-yet-sexy-feel we present the "Sculpted Cheek." Dianna Agron's vintage hairstyle and demure dress paved the way for this bold beauty look.

Daniel's Tip: Sculpting and shading the cheek frames the face beautifully with a dramatic eye. To achieve this look, use Giorgio Armani's Sheer Blush in #5 (Beige Violet) to sculpt. Use Armani's Holiday Face Palette to beautifully the top of the cheek, bridge of the nose, and cupid bow.

Modern Vintage
As a proper salute to all the glamazons out there, let's introduce "Modern Vintage." Gretchen Mol oozes elegance with a look made for a black-tie affair.

Daniel's Tip: The key here is to modernize the makeup but still stay true to the inspiration. To do this, 'sun kiss' the skin, keeping the lip matte. Use Ilia's multi-stick in Cheek to Cheek cream blush to achieve radiant skin and Lipstick Queen's Velvet Rope Lipstick in Brat Pack to get a saturated matte mouth.

Chic & Sheer
Downtown ladies take note: "Chic & Sheer' is all you. Lauren Santo Domingo's major jewelry adornment called for a low-key sheer, yet refined face.

Daniel's Tip: For subtle-smoky-slept-in eyes, use Dolce & Gabbana's Eyeshadow Quad in Femme Fatale with fingers to wash the colors on the lid. Saturate lips with Hourglass Opaque Liquid Lipstick in Rose, then blot after.

Our Fashion Tip: You don't need us to tell you—you are a trendsetter who already has her leather dress or metallic slipdress ready to go. (Don't forget to layer on that hardware.)

Bright & Poppy
Artists and risk takers alike will migrate to this "Bright & Poppy" palette. Every artist has a muse, and it’s no wonder why Vanessa Traina is Daniel’s.

Daniel's Tip: Skin should be bright and the lip poppy. To keep skin radiant, use Chanel's Illuminating Base mixed with YSL's Touche Eclat Foundation. Add a bright sheer wash of color such as Chanel's Rouge Coco Shine in Pygmalion to the lips.
