Aveda Aims to Break a Guinness World Record on Earth Day—Find Out How You Can Help!
(Thinkstock) Aveda is aiming to break a world record this Monday!
What are you doing on Earth Day, April 22nd? Want to help break a world record? If you happen to be in New York next week and want to help out, The Aveda Institute (233 Spring Street in SoHo - (877) 283-3229) is participating in a global cut-a-thon where Aveda stylists in Tokyo, Sydney, Moscow, London, New York, and Los Angeles are volunteering to offer haircuts to customers in exchange for donations to the company's Aveda Earth Month Campaign.
The goal? The set a Guinness World Record for most money raised for a charity by haircuts in a 24-hour period. (Yeah, these Guinness Records get pretty granular, huh?)
One-hundred percent of proceeds from the New York event will be donated to Clean Ocean Action, an organization dedicated to restoring, improving, and protecting the water quality in natural bodies of water in New York and New Jersey.
Here are the services on offer on Monday in New York from noon to 8 p.m.:
- Student haircuts for $20
- Instructor haircuts for $40
- Blow-outs for $10
To schedule your appointment, contact the Aveda Institute New York at 233 Spring Street - 1-877-283-3229.
