If you're a bit behind on your monthly (okay, 'fess up, weekly) pilgrimage to the makeup Mecca, oooh, you're in for a treat. Two major events are coming down the Sephora pipeline, and we're here to warn you to get your planner ready. You're going to want to, ahem, marc this down.
Which brings us to our first bullet point: Marc Jacobs Beauty is almost here! After buzzing about the 122-piece range for what feels like an eternity, the August 9th launch date is quickly approaching. What's with the reminder? Well, we just want you to be... prepared.
See, earlier this week Sephora sneakily leaked five new products on the Interwebs—a lip vinyl, precision pen eyeliner, two eye shadow sets, and a lip balm—all of which immediately sold out in hours. Thankfully, we were lucky enough to score some samples beforehand (see, above) and can pinky promise, they're well worth the hype. And the inevitable lines and waiting lists that are sure to come.
You've been warned.
Okay, on Sephora-blows-your-mind news part two.
The retailer is giving its Beauty Insider Rewards Program a serious makeover. How so? Under the new revamp beauty junkies will now be able swap points (major!), get more exclusive access to launches, and—in an attempt to satisfy the most fervent beauty addicts—the brand is launching a third rewards tier. VIB Rouge! (It's so Sephora to name a gold tier after a lipstick color, no?)
When we say VIB Rouge is for addicts, though, we mean addicts. While VIBs (the current highest tier) qualify for spending $350 in a calendar year, Rouge girls? They've got to drop a cold hard $1k. Yes, to hit the new level you must spend $1000 in a year—on makeup! At Sephora!
Now before you go and get your lipstick tubes in a jumble, though, know this: Rouge rewards aren't your average gimmicks. Members will get access to parties with celebrities, invites to collection launches, year-round free shipping, unlimited complimentary services to the Beauty Studio; plus, opportunities to cash in points for trips to Paris, New York Fashion Week, and a haircut from Chris McMillan, a.k.a. the creator of "The Rachel."
The new upgrade is set go live on August 12th. In the meantime, we'll be counting the pennies in our piggy banks. You?
