(Axelle/Bauer-Griffin) Amy Adams may rock disco-ready hair and over-the-top seventies makeup in her new flick American Hustle, but the siren was a model of contemporary beauty last night at the LA premiere of the film. Her strong smoky eyes were dark, daring, and totally enviable.
To get her "bold, unabashed look" makeup artist Stephen Sollitto looked to her stunning David Koma dress for inspo. "Although his dress is simple black and white, a bold, overall look with a strong eye spoke to me," he said.
(Axelle/Bauer-Griffin) Want to try out this eye-catching (see what we did there?) look? You're in luck, We've got the step-by-step process:
1) First, Sollitto applied Laura Mercier Sequin Eye Colour in Twinkling Star, ($23) to create a soft-sparkle effect.
2) He applied Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Twilight, ($26) on Amy's upper and lower lash line, as well as all over her eyelid. Using an eye shadow brush, he blended the shade to create a light, but dramatic smoky eye.
3) To line the upper and lower lash line, Sollitto used Laura Mercier Graphic Liquid Eyeliner, ($24). He then brushed Laura Mercier Tightline Cake Eyeliner in Gunmetal Smoke ($23) all over the eyelid. This softened the dark tone of the eyeliner. Next, he applied Dior Diorshow Blackout Mascara ($25) to both the upper and lower lashes.
