(Frazer Harrison/Getty Images North America)Kate Mara! That's right, older sister to Rooney, Kate has taken a turn to the blonder side of life. Over the holidays, Mara debuted her highlighted lob, and we're still talking about it. Although you might think you should take your hair color darker in the winter, Mara proves that doing the opposite can be oh-so sweet. Take a peek at her adorable new blonde hue.
(Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images North America)While making the jump to a blonder shade might at first seem like a bold move, there a few things you can do to make it seem like less of a change. First, you should find the right blonde for you. Kate's honey, yellow blonde works so well with her fair skin because it still maintains the warmth of her darker, auburn shade—it's just a few shades lighter. By making the highlights in her hair get lighter at the bottom, her new lighter shade has depth and looks more natural.
Another way to make the change to blonde look less drastic is to choose the right makeup. Because Mara has lighter skin, softer pink and peachy makeup (in the cheeks especially) work well. The soft shades won't clash with the hair or your complexion, i.e. your hair will look more natural, like Mara's.
We're just digging this shade of blonde for winter, spring, and summer!
