Current Obsession: Nigel Barker's New York-Inspired Fragrance Collection

No, it's not magic, although that would be cool. It's just one of three new fragrances from Barker's new signature fragrance collection. That's right, everyone's favorite noted fashion photographer has entered into the fragrance realm with The Nigel Barker Signature Collection by Demeter Fragrance Library.
The new versatile collection, not only draws inspiration from Barker's photography, but also one of the world's most beloved cities, New York City. Each fragrance features a unique image by Barker that matches the scent's specific essence of NYC, as told through the eyes—err nose—of Barker.
“I have my own relationship with what I call the ultimate supermodel in the world, which is New York City," said Barker, who has now lived in the Big Apple for 15 years. "She can be nasty to you and mean and cruel, but she can also be extremely loving and kind.” (Preach, Nigel.)
The collection's signature fragrance, if you will, is the sensual and alluring Nights, which is as sleek and sexy as a Saturday night out on the town. The complex blend of Red Poppies mixed with Cool Frost and Black Vanilla Bean, as well as a number of other interesting scents, personally throws me back to the first time this little Missouri girl ventured out into the City that Never Sleeps.
If Nights captures the allure of NYC after hours, Times Square encompasses the chaos of the bustling city.
"I simply can’t stop New York," said Barker. "I can’t control her. She’s there for me to chase." And chase he does, with this fragrance that's a bit of a contradiction. The scent contains food elements, pavement and so much more. One whiff, and Times Square is sure to make any seasoned New Yorker appreciate a first-time visitor's wide-eyed adoration of the concrete jungle.

Wall Street captures the essence of the Stock Exchange and the notion of power with nodes of tobacco, leather, and oak moss. (Think suave business man drinking bourbon, rather than annoying frat finance guy downing Bud Light.)
"THIS is the smell of money," said Barker, who also admitted this happens to be his favorite in the collection. "I like to smell like money."
Me too, Nigel. Me too. That's why I'm reserving this particular fragrance as my go-to work scent. OK, fine. My go-to scent period.
