Editor's Pick: A Sonic Face Brush to Rival Clarisonic's
This electronic cleansing brush is the first on the market to have antimicrobial protection.
If I'm being honest with you, I'm extremely lazy when it comes to my skincare routine. When I overhear people in conversation or read stories online about extensive 12-step nighttime cleansing routines, I shrug it off because ain't nobody got time for that. What I do have time for? A 60-second deep clean courtesy of the Michael Todd Soniclear ($149).
This rechargeable skin cleansing brush has a vibrating head to get deep into pores and wash away impurities. Plus, it's the first on the market to have antimicrobial protection, ensuring a bacteria-free brush with every use. The six-speed system comes with two interchangeable brush heads—one for the face and one for the body—to treat yourself to a powerful clean all over.
What I enjoy most about this brush is the built-in timer. Power this bad boy up and it will start buzzing away. After 20 seconds the device will beep, prompting you to move on to the next section of your face, and again 20 seconds later for the final section. This self-cycle timer is perfect for people like me who are used to rushing through the process. Now I'm more aware of how much time I'm spending on each zone and getting more out of my face wash routine in return.
As far as cleansers go, I like to use my favorite Drunk Elephant Pekee Bar with the device for a well-moisturized visage, but you can use any face or body wash of your choosing. The waterproof, cordless gadget (you charge it on a dock first for 35 minutes of battery power) is ideal for in-shower use, as well.
If you think you're better off washing with your hands, you might want to reconsider. I've used a makeup remover first and then proceeded to use the Soniclear, and the brush was still covered in gunk even though I thought all my foundation had been removed. It's kind of eye-opening how dirty your skin is deep-down when it seems fresh on the surface. I've been using the Soniclear for about a month and can say with confidence that my acne-prone skin has definitely improved.
