(Photo courtesy of ESPA)As much as we'd like to be able to make weekly spa visits—heck, we'd settle for monthly—that's just not possible. But that doesn't mean we can't get spa-quality skincare at home. We got a sneak peek at ESPA's Optimal Skin ProSerum, which was so popular overseas, it completely sold out in the UK. After testing this potent product out for ourselves, we saw that the luxe serum leaves skin feeling smooth and refreshed, just like after a spa facial.
The serum uses key natural ingredients to activate skin's own collagen, ceramides, and hyaluronic acid. (Fancy words for revitalizers, i.e. things that keep skin looking young and healthy.)
(Photo courtesy of ESPA)CEO and ESPA founder Sue Harmsworth says many young women are afraid to use serums, because they think they're just adding more oil to skin, but that's not the case. This ProSerum contains nourishing essential oils and natural extracts such as sunflower seed, white lupin, balloon plant, and tumeric root, to enhance elasticity, firm, and to prevent signs of aging. And don't worry, it doesn't create a build up of oily skin.
We're particularly fond of the velvety nature of the oil. With rose, patchouli, frangipiani oils and more, the serum goes on smooth and silky—not at all greasy. And after blending it in, skin is left feeling hydrated and supple, rather thann oily or sticky.
ESPA's Optimal Skin ProSerum is suitable for all ages and skin types and can be used day or night. We prefer to use it right after showering at night to let the oils sink deep into the skin for maximum effectiveness.
