'The Hunger Games' Inspires China Glaze Nail Polish Collection 'The Hunger Games' cast (Vanity Fair)
Just when we thought it wasn't going to happen, China Glaze cleared up a lawsuit involving licensing, enabling them to move forward with the launch of The Hunger Games-inspired nail polish collection. In a press release issued by China Glaze's parent company, American International Industries, the 12 shades are slated to launch March 1, 2012.

The premise of The Hunger Games, also scheduled for release in March, 2012, is about 16 teenagers fighting for their lives on a reality television show meant to entertain a dystopian society. The colors and names of China Glaze's movie-inspired polishes are meant to evoke the mood of the upcoming film and feature both earthy opaque and glitter finishes.

The Hunger Games isn't the only movie to inspire a collection of nail polish. Earlier this fall, OPI introduced a holiday collection referencing The Muppets. The 12 shades, according to OPI Executive VP and Artistic Director Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, are "fun, bright, and joyful colors." The opaque and glittery formulations in shades ranging from "bold red-flecked with silver to a multi-dimensional strawberry" are perfect for festive holiday manicures.
