Hey guys! I am Lauren Frankfort, Stylebistro's new Associate Editor, and I couldn't be more excited to be here.
The only thing I have ever wanted to do in my life is write. From a poem I wrote about a monster in my closet in third grade that was published in a National Children's Anthology of Poetry to the paper dolls I used to rip out of Neiman Marcus' The Book, my fate was pretty much sealed at age nine.
On a much more recent note, I graduated in May from NYU with a degree in English and Journalism. College, to me, was a vehicle for achieving my goals, aka become a successful fashion writer aka having lots and lots of internships. My first internship at Racked NY really solidified my love for the blogosphere. My former dream to be a fashion features writer amongst the glossy pages of Glamour and Vogue very quickly transformed to speedily publishing ten blog posts a day on one of the Internet's most successful fashion websites. To sum it up, liveblogging from Fashion Week released way more endorphins than a two hour long workout sesh.
After Racked I also interned at Vanity Fair in the fashion department, and at T: The New York Times Style Magazine in the features and beauty department. I ended my college and internship career with an incredible three-semester-long internship at Teen Vogue in the web department, where I wrote tons of style and celebrity trend and news stories.
I am really interested in the practical side of fashion—what to wear and when, how to dress your body-type, how to look fashionable without buying a new wardrobe every season to include each trend. As a journalism school graduate I also love fashion news, and hope to guide you through the style news cycle all the while pointing out how ridiculous this industry can be sometimes. I can't wait to get started, get to know you guys, and most importantly grow into the online editor I've always dreamed I could be!
