Natalie Portman Wears Rodarte to the Oscars After Dior Designer's Anti-Semitic Rants
As the face of Miss Dior Cherie, it was almost certain that Natalie Portman would be wearing Dior to accept her first Oscar. But she surprised many by showing up in Rodarte instead. Yes, Natalie is good friends with Rodarte's Mulleavy sisters, but it's conflict brewing at Dior headquarters that likely changed her mind.
Dior creative director John Galliano has been accused of making anti-semitic remarks on multiple occasions to patrons of Cafe La Perle in Paris Marais district. He has been suspended from the famed house barring investigation by the police. Unfortunately, a video has been released showing there's no doubt Galliano made the remarks. In the clip, he tells the couple next to him, "I love Hitler. People like you would be dead. Your mothers, your forefathers, would all be f****** gassed."
Natalie, who is Israel-born and very loyal to her home country reportedly chose the Rodarte dress at the last minute after hearing the news. Could this be the downfall of John Galliano?
