The latest and most egregious case are Vibram's FiveFingers shoes. You may know them as those creepy robo-feet, toe shoes, foot gloves, or as the reason you may never look at Channing Tatum the same way again.
Now, it would be one thing if the dreaded footwear were relegated to workouts or the privacy of one's own home. But alas, these shoes are now making appearances in bars, on dates and even on the red carpet which, quite frankly, is inexcusable.
Following a date with a high-powered exec, a friend rattled off a list of the guy's various pros (he checked off almost every box), before revealing he had actually worn Vibrams to the black tie event. Needless to say, there was not a second date. Another friend was recently on the unfortunate receiving end of a game of footsie from a dude wearing said shoes in a bar.
Look, we get it. Guys want to be comfortable. But if we ladies can somehow make do in our 5" stilettos, then there's really no reason why a dude can't tolerate a pair of loafers, sneakers, boat shoes, or sandals.
What do you think? Are Vibrams on the streets a hit or a miss?
