Many people assume a plant-based diet means a vegan diet, but that's not entirely true. Vegans follow strict rules, where as a plant-based diet has more wiggle room. Those who follow this diet just simply eat mostly plant-based foods.

What you can eat: diet consists mainly of fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, whole grains — though you can also branch out

What you can't eat: nothing is really off limits, as long as the majority of your food is plant-based
