Two Marc Jacobs ads hit the internet this week, but only one is real.
Okay, fine, it's the one on the left. Sorry, we had to get one more Ikea monkey reference in before the week was up.
Lensed by Juergen Teller (of course), Marc's spring Marc by Marc Jacobs ad campaign features a male model wedged into a graffiti'd dive bar bathroom stall. Wisely, he is not touching the toilet seat.
Usually, when a brand wants their ads to look "gritty," they'll smear their most hollow-cheeked models with eyeliner and tell them to strike a disaffected pose. So, the fact that Jacobs literally stuck his clothes next to a toilet to telegraph "grunge" is kind of...refreshing! And fun, with all of the clashing graffiti, don't you think?
Then again, it would be kind of amazing if the Ikea monkey really was Marc Jacobs's next muse. The little guy does look dapper in outerwear.
Tell us, who makes a better Marc model?
