Andre Leon Talley Is On a Serious Meatloaf Kick

Former Vogue editor at large (and current Numero Russia EIC) Andre Leon Talley wrote a short — and touching! — essay on his late grandmother for The Huffington Post.

Some things we learned about ALT's granny: For her first-ever flight — which Andre accompanied her on — she wore a crisp black suit that she bought in the 40's. She made hot biscuits every Sunday. And her meatloaf was kind of a big deal.

Apparently, she passed along her love of brick-like ground meat formations to Andre Leon Talley, because, as he mentions in the essay, he's been eating the dish for three days straight.

ALT prefers a slightly healthier turkey and vegetable meatloaf to the traditional beef version. We have so many questions, though. Does he make it himself? Does he top it off with ketchup? Gravy? Does he eat it for lunch and dinner? Do you think he's been cutting slices off of the same meatloaf all week? Or — most likely scenario — does he buy it slice by slice at one of those annoyingly pricey farm-to-table "comfort food" restaurants, accompanied by some kale salad and celery root mash?
