(Fame Flynet) Kim Kardashian will be allowed to attend the Met Ball this year
Is Kim Kardashian finally being legitimately recognized by Anna Wintour, the grand dame of the American fashion industry? Or does this mark the beginning of the end of the annual Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala's highbrow exclusivity—which ordinarily boasts a guest list so tightly managed it comprises only A-list celebrities, A-list designers, and the iconic museum's biggest donors and fundraisers?
According to a report in Life & Style, after being unceremoniously banned from last year's Met Ball by none other than Wintour herself, Kardashian will be allowed to attend this year—but only on the merits of her babydaddy.
"Kanye West and Kim Kardashian will both be attending the Met Gala in NYC on May 6," a source told the weekly. "Because Kanye is performing, he was allowed to invite her."
This year's exhibition is themed around the late-70s punk movement—and is called "Punk: Chaos to Couture." Punk-influenced looks on display will include pieces from CHanel, Versace, Alexander McQueen, and Vivienne Westwood.
Of course, now, the burning question in our mind is: Which designer will dress Kim Kardashian—and will she be dressed in theme? How much cleavage and belly will the porn-star-turned-reality-TV-person bare? And will Anna Wintour (or co-chair and wife of Kanye West's bestie Jay-Z Beyonce Knowles) actually speak to Kardashian at the event? The suspense is killing us.
