Looking at StyleBistro guest editor Giuliana Rancic on the red carpet, you might not guess that she would have any trouble dressing her figure. She's tall and reed thin like a model, so the immediate assumption is she can wear anything from a potato sack to couture and still look good. But that's not the case. Giuliana says she has a boyish frame that she's had to learn how to dress.
Earlier in life, she would wear baggy clothes to try to disguise her shape, but that backfired and ended up making her look thicker. Nowadays, she focuses on fitted pieces to try to emphasize her waist. She says:
I've learned that you really gotta wear tighter clothes and more form-fitting clothes at the waist to give you more of a waist. Last night on E! News, I wore this dress and, though it looked straight on the hanger—I thought, 'I'm going to look so straight in that'—it actually came in at the waist. Normally I wouldn't wear something so tight because it's going to show that I have no curves, but this actually cinched at the waist which is good. Instead of trying to wear something blowzy and baggy, its better to almost emphasize it so it works more in your favor.
What types of clothes do you wear to emphasize your figure?
