(Chelsea Lauren/Getty Images North America)A few weeks ago we taught you how to add little braids to your top knot, this week we're uping the ante. We've got the exact step by step detail of Julianne Hough's French braided top knot. And trust us, this look is really, really, ridiculously good looking easy to do at home. See how stylist Riawana Capri created the look, below.
Split hair into two sections, one on top and one on bottom. Take the top section and secure into a high ponytail. Stylist tip: if you're trying this style on short hair, like Julianne's, it's important to get the bun situated first.
Apply a wax all over the bottom section of hair to help it stay in place. Capri used GO-247 Cream Wax.
Flip head upside down and French braid the waxy pieces of the bottom section. Stop braiding when you reach the crown of the head. Bobby pin the end of the braid into the ponytail created prior.
Wrap the ponytail around to create a top knot bun. Leave out some flyaway pieces at the sides for a more carefree look.
