Now Trending for Your Strands: Distressed Side Braids

(Source: Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images North America) Have you seen the nifty little 'do all the celebs are sporting these days? And we're not joking when we say everyone. From Blake Lively to Emma Stone, some big-name stars are hopping on board this hair trend. The distressed side braid is quickly becoming Hollywood's go-to 'do. We spotted it on the red carpet at the Met Gala as well as a number of other high-profile events. Take a look at how four different stars wore the look.

Blake Lively let her blonde mane fly free with this haphazardly plaited weave. Paired with dramatic smoky eyes and a printed cocktail dress, this messy 'do was instantly elevated.

Finally, Joan Smalls's tresses might not have been as distressed as the other looks, but her lengthy fishtail still featured the on-trend volume and face-framing strands that characterize this look.

Although each woman styled her strands differently, one thing remains the same throughout: the distressed look is in. Rough up your braid by letting some pieces hang loose and fly free. The messier the better for this red carpet trend.
