Livingly's Vintage Muse series asks vintage fashion influencers to talk about their unique style and how they live life beautifully.
As a vintage lover, it's way too easy to get sucked into the gorgeous Nora Finds blog. Suddenly I'm 24 pages in and somebody needs to stop me! I'm amazed at the uniqueness of each carefully crafted outfit and have a particular appreciation for her fabulous earring collection (an accessory I all too often skip).
Nora prides herself on having a beautiful but comfortable wardrobe, encouraging others to try the nostalgic aesthetic. "We often see more girls embracing pin-up or rockabilly subcultures," she writes, "My style, however, isn’t any of these—I stick to everyday vintage."
In an e-interview, Nora gave me a glimpse of who she is and how she shops vintage—but don't stop there. Check out her tips for vintage style newbies, her vlog answering questions from her Instagram followers, and her insightful look at the relationship between her ethnicity and fashion. She'll make you want to up your wardrobe game, reminding everyone that "it is not wrong to be fabulous."
How would you describe your style?
Practical, comfortable, vintage-inspired.
Who is your ultimate fashion icon?
It’s impossible to say just one, I’m honestly inspired by anyone who’s comfortable in their own skin (and clothes haha!).
Where is your go-to store or site for shopping vintage or vintage-inspired clothing?
What's one piece of shopping advice you would give to fellow shoppers?
Know your measurements! Vintage clothes have different sizing to modern clothes so it’s good to know your measurements before trying things on. But also when buying modern clothes knowing your measurements prevents you from obsessing over size tags (every fabric/cut/brand has different sizing!).
What is your signature look?
Short hair, cat eye, and red lipstick!
What is your favorite fashion find of all time?
A Victorian name brooch that bears my grandmother’s name! I wrote about it here.
What's on the top of your shopping wish list right now?
A 1930s-1940s green coat haha!
Can you pick an all-time favorite outfit?
Almost impossible, but I’m really fond of this one (left) because it took a lot of months to put together!

@paperofthepast who posts pages from vintage and antique scrapbooks!

Being happy on the inside so it shows on the outside :).
