Hot on the heels of the announcement that Harper's Bazaar would be extending its brand in Europe with a German launch this fall comes the news that the brand will be launching a French edition with fashion journalist Alexandra Senes at the helm.
“We are thrilled to partner with Hearst to bring Harper’s Bazaar to France and to welcome Alexandra Senes as editor in chief,” said Arnaud de Contades, CEO of Groupe Marie Claire—which is partnering with Hearst Magazines International on the launch. “Alexandra is an influential fashion journalist and tastemaker whose editorial expertise and creativity will shape Harper’s Bazaar in France.”
Senes comes to Bazaar from her editor-in-chief post at the style section of the Journal du Dimanche. Her work has appeared in publications including L'Officiel, New York magazine, Elle Japan, and Architectural Digest. She previously launched a clothing line called Kilmetre—which was sold at iconic concept store Colette—was editor-in-chief of Mixte, edited Le Monde's Sunday styles section, and was editor-in-chief of Jalouse.
