Once upon a time, Elle Macpherson was all the Elle Australia needed—but, starting this fall, the island-country-continent will be home to two Elles: Macpherson and Magazine.
In a joint announcement by Bauer Media Group, Hearst Magazines International, and Lagardere Active, it was announced that Elle Australia will launching with the October 2013 issue (on sale this September). The accompanying website, Elle.com.au, will debut in August.
"The launch of Elle Australia sees three of the world's greatest publishing houses working together on one of the world's greatest brands," said Bauer Media CEO Matthew Stanton. "This is our first major launch since ACP Magazines was acquired by Bauer Media Group and we are particularly excited to be launching Elle, which offers readers and marketers all the benfits of a well-respected and successful global brand, as well as the opportunity to participate in a multiplatform magazine from the start."
Bauer Media and Hearst International currently work together in publishing Australian editions of Harper's Bazaar and Cosmopolitan.
