6. Ariel by Sylvia Plath
The famously celebrated poetry collection by Sylvia Plath, Ariel was unpublished at the time of the great poet, novelist and writer's death. Her husband, Ted Hughes, had it published posthumously in 1966, to great critical acclaim — and for good reason. Plath's work, as ever, is heartbreakingly provoking, searing in its prettily evocative but honest nature, and utterly brilliant. If you haven't read Ariel, we suggest you do so right about now.
