Sips and Tips: The Godiva Truffletini and Chocolate Truffle Mani
Have a sweet treat this Valentine's Day with this tasty pair.
We here at StyleBistro are big proponents of enjoying the little things in life—from a tasty treat to a fresh manicure. So we decided to pair two of our favorite indulgences for a series we're calling Sips and Tips. In these deliciously fun articles, we'll share with you a recipe for one of our favorite drinks of the moment, as well as a manicure inspired by the beverage of choice. Think of it as just another way to incorporate personal style into every aspect of your life.
With Valentine's Day just around the corner, it's time to start planning your big night. We already helped you choose the perfect outfit, now it's time to start thinking about that manicure. Instead of opting for the typical pink or red polish, we're taking a cue from our favorite Valentine's treat—chocolate. For this look, we called in nail expert Jin Soon Choi to design a Chocolate Truffle Manicure inspired by a must-try V-day drink—Godiva Liqueur's Truffletini. And trust us—both are just as sweet as they sound.
The Sip: The Godiva Truffletini
One ounce Godiva Chocolate Liqueur
Half ounce Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur
Half ounce Cîroc Vodka
Combine the Godiva Chocolate Liqueur, Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur and Cîroc Vodka in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well and strain into chilled martini glass. Garnish with a Godiva Milk Chocolate Truffle.
The Tip: The Chocolate Truffle Manicure
JINsoon Nail Polish in Dulcet ($48, part of a Goop exclusive set)
Striping Brush ($10)
Prep the nails with a base coat prior to beginning the design. Apply two coats of a light tan shade. We used Nostalgia. Then, create the inner triangle design with Risqué or another dark blue shade.
A pro tip for placing the triangles:
Start by placing a dot in the middle of the nail and use the striper to draw lines from the dot to the sides of the nail to keep the triangle centered. Fill in the triangle. Next, use the striper to create two stripes in triangle shape right above previous full triangle. We used the color Dulcet to get a warm cocoa feel. Finally, apply top coat and you're ready for anything Valentine's Day throws at you!
