I have a weird love for New Year’s Resolutions. It’s probably because of my perpetual quest for self- improvement combined with the fact I really like making to-do lists.

However, I've learned the biggest resolution trap is trying to take on too many life changes and in turn delivering on none. The trick is to pick one game-changer from each of these four categories of your life: your physical health, your emotional health, your intellectual growth and your finances.

Here are some ideas for every category to get the ball rolling. Hopefully they'll inspire you to think about which habit change will have the most impact on your well-being. Which goal would your future self thank you for the most? Some are big, some small, and some cross-over to cover more than one field. But as much as we strive to perfect our lives, don't overdo it — the key for success is focus.
