Donna Karan Spring 2014 Fashion Show - The Ultimate Jet-Setter's Wardrobe

One day after watching Rita Ora dance down the runway at the DKNY show, we returned to the Cedar Lake venue in Chelsea—revamped in less than 24 hours from a Brooklyn warehouse to a serene sand dune—to see what Donna Karan has in store for spring 2014.

Comprising two themes—"The Artisan Accent" and "Urban Culture"—the collection contained plenty of Karan's iconic liquid jersey dresses, no doubt a tried-and-true favorite of every New York woman, updated in worldly prints and artisinal patterns. Crisp linen shirts—"a man's tunic made for a woman," according to the show notes—beautifully paired with hand-tooled leathers, laced canvas, and aged accessories to create a modern uniform for today's sophisticated breed of nomads.

We may not leave New York often, but this collection might just be our ticket to going some place far, far away. (Preferably somewhere we can wear those crushed leather hats.) Be still our hearts.
