For the past three seasons, Zac Posen's New York Fashion Week show has been a mid-week breath of fresh air—a quiet hour at dusk where a couple hundred industry folks gather on the balcony at Avery Fisher Hall, overlooking the Lincoln Center piazza, to see beautiful eveningwear worn by beautiful models, with beautiful music playing in the background.
Posen's spring 2013 show was amazing—and not only for the designer's intricate, brilliant dresses, eveningwear, and gowns. The casting was to die for. The show opened with Naomi Campbell. Second up was Isabeli Fontana. Third up was Lindsey Wixson. Also in the line-up? Supermodels Karolina Kurkova, Coco Rocha, Crystal Renn, Hilary Rhoda, Erin O'Connor, and Angela Lindvall.
Then there was the front row. There were the regulars—Kelly Osbourne, Gina Gershon, Leigh Lezark, Martha Stewart. And then there was one guest (and her dad) we were super-excited to see: Lourdes Ciccone, Madonna's daughter—who was, for some unknown reason, hiding out in the second row:
Here's a shot of Lourdes with Kelly Osbourne (who's served as the face of Lourdes & her mom's clothing line, Material Girl):
Here were our five favorite looks from the show—some of the most jaw-dropping dresses and gowns of the year.

Seriously, are you dying? Because we're still reeling from last night's Zac Posen show. We wish all fashion shows during New York Fashion Week could be this breathtaking, this intimate, and this well thought-out. It's just, amid all the reality stars clogging up the front rows, all the two-thousand-people-in-the-audience shows, all the paparazzi, all the street style photographers, all the chaos—Zac Posen's shows always feel like an oasis of civility and beauty in a week of chaos. So we love it.
