Donna Karan Spring 2013 Show Report: Bold Fuchsia Eyes + Subdued Runway Looks
(ImaxTree) Backstage at the Donna Karan spring 2013 show
The day after DKNY's spring 2013 show, we returned to the same Chelsea venue—overhauled in under 24 hours to create an entirely different ambiance and mood—to see the Donna Karan Collection spring show.
Things we love about Donna Karan: she's a die-hard New Yorker and all her designs consistently reflect how real women—women who have jobs, lives, children, families, errands, things to get done—want to dress. Which is to say Donna Karan's clothes are beautiful, easy-to-wear, flattering, and not beat-you-over-the-head flashy. Nearly everything Donna Karan showed for spring 2013, for example, could be considered an instant timeless classic—the body-skimming wrap dress, the draped cowl-neck maxi, the plunging neckline cocktail dress that billows out into a full skirt (god, we love a full skirt).
Something we also loved about the spring 2013 show? The bold fuchsia eye makeup, above, that stood in stark contrast to the understated mint, creams, lavenders, and pale chambray blues on the runway.
