They just don't make them like Hedy Lamarr anymore. This gold star-emblazoned headpiece the actress wore in 1941's Adrian?  Nothing short of magnificent.

But not only was this starlet drop-dead gorgeous, she was also an innovator. With the advent of World War II, Lamarr and composer George Antheil developed a radio guidance system for Allied torpedoes. The principles of the system, which used spread spectrum and frequency hopping technology, are now used in modern Wi-Fi, CDMA, and Bluetooth technology. How amazing is that?
