Fun fact of the day: Jane Fonda won her first Oscar in 1971 for her leading role as a high-class call girl in the murder-mystery Klute.
The movie is chock-full of fashion inspiration—with its feathery necklaces, glamour glasses, and sequin shifts all worn by Fonda's character, Bree Daniels.
In honor of the film's 40th anniversary, Jane Fonda and Andy Cohen are hosting a cocktail reception and fundraising auction in New York City to celebrate the film and to benefit the charity Fonda founded, The Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention. Best part? The event will be held on October 11 and it's open to the public! Tickets can be purchased here.
For all of you Fonda fans out there, here's how you can get some Klute-inspired clothing for your very own wardrobe.
Blue Sequin Dress:
One of our favorite iconic looks from Fonda's Klute wardrobe is this navy blue long-sleeve sequin dress with a high neckline—it was even featured on the film's poster! This dress is perfect for a chilly night out on the town. Try Mark + James by Badgley Mischka Sequin Dress ($320) to have a sparkly stunner of your own.
Spiked collar necklace:
You can freshen up any ol' tee or tank with a thick spike or fringe collar necklace like Fonda's in Klute. Try BaubleBar's Noir Crystal Cascade ($82) or Whiting and Davis Vintage Fringes Mesh Choker ($345) for a similar look.
Boho Black Accessories + Mini Dress:
This magazine spread was only inspired by Fonda's Klute character, so think of this outfit idea as inspiration culled from inspiration: a slim-fitting turtleneck mini dress, and a ton of braided leather accessories.
Try American Apparel's Solid Rib Turtleneck Dress ($32) to channel Fonda's sexy turtleneck look. As for the accessories, you'll need glamour glasses with a light-hued frame, like this MICHAEL Michael Kors "Helena" pair ($99). You'll also need a slouchy boho hobo bag (try saying that three times fast!), like this Olivia Harris bag ($475), and a braided leather belt.

If you're in the NYC area, don't forget about the cocktail reception and fundraiser on October, 11. If you're interested in seeing Fonda in person, you can purchase your tickets here.
