Weekend Beauty Challenge: Update Your Basic Manicure With Feminine Ombre Nail Art

(Source: Morgan Taylor, ImaxTree)Sick and tired of the same old manicure week after week? Well, we're challenging you to switch it up with a subtle, warm-weather-ready look. Right now, we're loving this faded ombre from Zac Posen's Spring 2014 runway show. After all, what better says spring than a rosy pink mani? And the best part is it's surprisingly simple to re-create at home. (No, for real—it only requires two polishes and a makeup sponge!) Follow these simple steps to get this exact romantic runway nail look this weekend—just in time for Sunday brunch.

Step 1) Paint an even two coats of Morgan Taylor "Coming Up Roses" ($8.50) as the base color. Let both coats dry.

Step 2) Paint the corner of a makeup sponge with a lighter pink shade, such as Morgan Taylor "Polished Up" ($8.50).

Step 3) Start at the edge of the nail and lightly sponge across the tip.

Step 4) Repeat sponging across the tip of the nail to build a stronger ombre effect.

Step 5) Let the second color dry and seal with your favorite topcoat.
