10. S-Bend Corsets
If you thought regular corsets were painful enough, the "S-Bend" one took it up a notch. The idea wasn't only that you had to have a tiny waist, but you also had to have your silhouette conform into an "s-shape." The idea was that it would give a woman a proud swagger where her behind was thrust far back, and her shoulders were pushed forward. As you can imagine, it wasn't a natural posture to take.
