If you've ever been shopping in London, you'll know about Selfridges—one of the city's most iconic department stores and a pioneer in luxury retail. But did you know that once upon a time there was a man called Harry Gordon Selfridge who conceived of a shopping experience full of romance and magic—and whose vision the current incarnation of Selfridges embodies to this day? Beginning March 31st on PBS, get to know Mr. Selfridge—as played by, um, Jeremy Piven. Check out the preview right here:
The 10-episode season, which debuted in the UK in January and attracts an average audience of 8.5 million per episode (that's nearly as many people as Duck Dynasty!) is based on a 2007 biography of Selfridge, Shopping, Seduction, and Mr. Selfridge, by writer Lindy Woodhead. The first episode will air after the second season premiere of Call The Midwife—which, if you haven't already seen, is a must-watch drama-slash-comedy about nuns and midwives.
