Saudis are not too pleased that the former, uh, home video star is opening a handbag shop in the Middle East—in the country's holy city, Mecca, to be exact.

According to a report in the Telegraph, Paris Hilton stirred up a backlash after tweeting a photo of her new accessories store.

"Loving my beautiful new store that just opened at Mecca Mall in Saudi Arabia!" she tweeted, along with the photo, below.

Disgruntled patrons near and far lashed out against the American heiress on social media, namely Twitter and Facebook.

"Wahhabis at work! Historic religious sites in Medina are being destroyed, while Paris Hilton opens a new store in Mecca mall," read one tweet. Others pointed out Hilton's, uh shall we say, less-than-holy past: "How can someone who made such a video open a store in the holy city next to the Grand Mosque?"

Outrage aside, the opening marks the socialite's fifth store in Saudi Arabia and her 42nd in total—so it seems there's actually a healthy demand for PH handbags. Who knew?
