15. Stay away from processed foods
All those chips, crackers, cookies, etc. are tempting but they aren’t cheap. Not only are they not filling or particularly healthy, but they cost a pretty penny. And, when you stop to think about it, buying sweets serves no nutritional purpose. While they can be a fun splurge, if you're really trying to cut back on spending, taking those cookies and ice cream out of the cart can easily save you more than $40 per month. Instead focus on whole foods whenever possible.
