After beginning her career at ultra-chic retailer, Barney's, and assisting fashion icons such as Rachel Zoe and Andrea Lieberman, Tara Swennen has become a fashion force in her own right. Swennen has worked with celebs including Kristen Stewart, Julie Bowen, Connie Britton and Kaley Cuoco and today she's lending us some style know how.

What is your go-to, no-fail outfit?
"My favorite go to look is a black and white combo—whether it be a black pencil skirt paired with a chic white blouse, a black turtleneck with a white pleated or flared skirt or a white dress beneath a black coat or blazer. The combo is always timeless and fool proof—the black is slimming and the white is elegant. Pair it with a simple Forevermark diamond stud earring and a black or red pump—it's a classic look!"

What are your favorite runway trends of the moment and why?
"I particularly loved the Chanel turtlenecks as they were very wide opposed to the classic turtleneck look—it's unique and edgy. I would pair them with a fun wide leg or flared trouser and stilettos."

"I loved the bold colors of the stripes at Christian Dior during Couture Week! As far as graphic prints at the moment—the bolder the better for me! These colors add a playful twist to the age-old striped look. I also love the idea of playing with feathers like we saw at Erdem's Spring 2015 show—with the trending cropped top and pencil skirt look. I love the colors as well as the halter element of this particular pairing, too."

What closet staple do you buy in multiples and why?
"Number one is jeans. Mix it up with various styles and washes—try one flare and one skinny as well as one white, one black and one indigo. Next is a classic sexy stiletto. Start with neutrals in black and nude and then move to colors and metallics. Lastly, classic black blazers—they are slimming and can be paired with virtually anything. I find a variety of different lengths and textures are useful!"

What is the best piece of style advice you've ever received?
"'Before you walk out the door always take one thing off!' I tend to love simplicity in my looks so I advise against over-accessorizing. It has helped me keep a clean aesthetic unless the look really calls for drama!"

Which celebrity look that you styled are you most proud of and why?
"I could never narrow it down to one but I am very fond of the looks I just styled for SAG Awards!  Kaley Cuoco was in a Ramona Kaveza red dress paired with Forevermark diamonds and Julie Bowen was in a George Hobeika dress paired with Effy jewelry."
