5. CALIFORNIA: Zazie in San Francisco
Named after the Louis Malle film Zazie dans le Metro, this charming neighborhood bistro is everything San Francisco brunch dreams are made of. Zazie famously went tip-free in 2015, in favor of an all-inclusive menu, which allows for employees to receive competitive pay in the city in which they live, paid sick leave, and more.

Politics aside, though, this popular Cole Valley spot serves up a mean brunch, which is saying a lot since in San Francisco (and even California in general), there is more than a little competition. Its garden patio seating is the perfect spot to enjoy delicious French cuisine on a nice day.

Must Try: Pinkie's Challah French Toast (with orange cinnamon batter), Croque Madame (baked black forest ham and gruyere sandwich with a sunny side up egg)
