Site Spotlight: Stylebook

Site Spotlight: StyleBook(Source: Stylebook)Nearly two decades have passed since Clueless made its big-screen debut, but we're still dreaming about Cher Horowitz's revolutionary closet-organization software. While an exact replica has shockingly yet to materialize, we've found the next best thing for cataloguing your wardrobe, and it's called Stylebook.

The app ($4 on iTunes) helps you build a virtual closet (organized by garment type and style) that mirrors your real-life one by snapping photos or grabbing pre-existing pictures from the internet of clothing you already own. Stylebook automatically silhouettes each item, allowing you to then build head-to-toe outfit collages right on your smartphone and create your own personal lookbook.

To wit, a calendar component helps you keep track of exactly when you wore a garment or look, while the Style Stats tool can automatically tell you the number of items hanging in your wardrobe and their collective cost, how often (or not) you've styled or worn particular pieces, and even the colors you have in abundance. (All of the information generated depends on how much you put in to begin with, so the app only gets better with use.)

Other bells and whistles include a clothing-care reference guide from Valet magazine, email access to tailor Michael Duru for fit questions and the capability to create destination-specific packing lists. For those who really want to be diligent users, you can even denote whether a garment is at the dry cleaner, in the laundry, being stored or on loan via a dropdown menu.
