Elisabetta Sirani
Elisabetta Sirani (1638- 1665) was an Italian Baroque painter who died unexplainably at the age of 27. During a time when women weren't allowed to paint or weren't taken seriously as artists, she was one of the most famous, and even created an academy for other woman artists.

Though she died in her twenties, she created over 200 paintings in her lifetime, often times showcasing powerful women against dark backgrounds and painted in sharp, vibrant colors.
