Frida Kahlo
Frida Kahlo (1907-1954) was a Surrealist Mexican artist who was famous for her self-portraits that explored identity, post-colonialism, Mexican politics, and gender. She was the first Mexican artist to be featured in the Louvre (which she achieved at the young age of 29,) and art institutions like the Tate Modern consider Kahlo "one of the most significant artists of the twentieth century."
