Filmmaker Michael Moore's documentary Bowling for Columbine won just days after then-President George W. Bush commenced his invasion of Iraq in 2003. He was met with boos when he took the stage to accept his award and pronounced, “We live in fictitious times. We live in a time where we have fictitious election results, that elects a fictitious president. We live in a time where we have a man sending us to war for fictitious reasons.”
