When it comes to award shows, the Academy Awards, commonly known as the Oscars, are definitely the most prestigious. The show is hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, an organization that consists of around 6,000 industry professionals, which is why you'll often hear winners "thank the academy" as they accept their Oscar statuette.

Considering the Academy Awards are the crème de la crème of award shows, it's no surprise that those attending take their outfits very seriously. Other than the Met Gala, this is the most esteemed red carpet out there, so showing up in anything less than your best is simply not an option. While we don't envy that level of pressure, we can't lie and say we don't love watching it from the comfort of our own homes.
