We're still swooning over this structural Scandinavian decor –– along with the traditional Danish fare served at the gorgeous and open Aamans 1921. The restaurant, and its its head chef, Adam Aamann, is known for its "smørrebrød," which is just about the most classically Danish dish there is.

Smørrebrød is a kind of open-faced sandwich based on rye bread and piled high with a variety of ingredients, like pickled herring, for example. Adam Aamann has truly elevated this signature dish, taking it to the next level with a modern twist and surprising new flavor combinations.
