11. Limit sugar.
While sweet treats abound during the holidays and there are plenty of nay-sayers who will tell you sugar doesn’t affect anyone, most parents will tell you differently. You can practically set a timer to the sugar crash in our household. The hyper behavior is followed by tantrums galore. If you’re visiting a restaurant or party where others will be eating desserts, talk to your kids ahead of time about what they need to do to earn their treats and limit the crash by limiting the intake. Many kids are perfectly happy with a small serving.
