It's A Boy! The Royal Baby Has Arrived
Meghan Markle has given birth to her and Harry's first child — and it's a royal baby boy.
After an excruciating amount of speculation and anticipation, Meghan Markle has given birth to a baby boy.
The announcement came on Monday morning as a welcomed start to the week. In a post on the couple's Instagram account, we know the baby boy was born during the "early morning" on May 6 and "weighs 7lbs 3oz." We later found out the exact time was 5:26am (local time).
As we already knew, Meghan and Harry opted out of doing a Lindo Wing op, so it will be a little time before we get a glimpse of the new babe. Thankfully though, Harry took a moment to speak to the media, because even he knew one Instagram post wouldn't be enough to satisfy us.
The new father looked overjoyed at the birth of his first child as he revealed "I'm very excited to announce that Meghan and myself had a baby boy early this morning, a very healthy boy." The Prince was literally beaming — and we are too.
Not only that, but Prince Harry showed he may just be the sweetest husband out there, expressing his absolute awe with Meghan's ability to give birth. "It's been the most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined. How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension." He continued, "But we're both absolutely thrilled and so grateful to all the love and support from everybody out there. It's been amazing. So we just wanted to share this with everybody."
Naturally, one of the reporters asked about a name, to which Harry responded, "Still thinking about names. The baby is a little bit overdue, so we've had a little bit of time to think about it. That's the next bit. But for us, I think we'll be seeing you guys in probably two days' time, as planned, as a family to be able to share with you guys, so everybody can see the baby."
Two days! Let the countdown begin.
We are beyond happy for Harry and Meghan on the birth of their healthy baby. Now that we know he's a boy, the name predictions can be whittled down a tad bit more. While the current top guesses are Arthur and Alexander, we're still hoping it's something related to Harry's late mother, Princess Diana. Spencer, perhaps?
