While we are all still reeling from the results of Tuesday's presidential election, many of us have taken to social media to express our disgust, disappointment, anger, outrage, and heartbreak. It's clear that now more than ever, we need to come together in a show of solidarity.
On the evening of November 9th, the team at Henri Bendel was installing their famed holiday window displays as the protests at Trump Tower occurred directly across the street.
They then had mere moments to usher artist James Goldcrown into the store just before protesters took over Fifth Avenue right in front of the store. Goldcrown proceeded to then paint all night long as the visual team erected enormous hearts over the storefront, all while 10,000 protesters crowded before them.
“I am thrilled to partner with Henri Bendel on this year’s holiday window display," the artist shared with us. "Bringing The Love Wall inside a legendary Fifth Avenue landmark is a huge honor. I look forward to spreading the love with millions of tourists and New Yorkers alike this holiday season."
In the days to come, it's reminders like these that we need the most: Ones that demarcate a very real, powerful, and tangible reminder of what has always, and always will, trump hate –– empathy, understanding, hope, acceptance, and love.
