5. Chat With People On Tours
The same idea follows when you're on a tour: Turn to the person next to you and chat them up about their stay. Chances are they went somewhere or saw something you didn't hear about in your itinerary research, and it'll lead you down a fun new avenue. For example, while I was on a free tour in Krakow, the couple next to me mentioned that Krakow is built on top of a series of old medieval cellars that were used as bomb shelters during WWII, and now those shelters were turned into underground restaurants and swanky bars.

Me and my friends had a fun evening ducking into these basements only to find jazz bars and speakeasies; authentic polish banquet halls and karaoke bars - something that we wouldn't have done unless someone told us to.
