1. Cabernet Sauvingon
Cabernet Sauvignon is a bold, oaky wine with dark fruit flavors like blackberries and black currents. It's one of those wines that truly gets better with age. 

Think dark and red meat when pairing food with your Cabernet. Beef stew, duck, and pot roast are all excellent options. Sauces shouldn't be too spicy, though black pepper is a preferred spice. Mushrooms pair wonderfully as well.
